From the story of the ancient times to the breath of modernity
“Finding the Pearl” has achieved its “dual goal” by exploiting the strengths of Quang Ninh cave tourism and demonstrating its role as a cultural ambassador.
On the stage running inside the cave, which is more than 4,000m wide, a stage work designed with modern performance technology combined with the effect of the splendor of the Karst cave has created an overwhelming feeling for visitors. This is the first time - a Karst cave in Vietnam has been used as a live performance stage with the largest area ever.
The performance incorporated a variety of Vietnamese cultural elements. These were dances and circus acts depicting the lives of the people of the Quang Ninh mining land from the early days to the present, including a blazing fire dance. These were folk songs of the San Diu and Dao Thanh Phan ethnic groups. In particular, the Vietnamese people in particular and Quang Ninh people in general always maintain the belief in Mother Goddess worship; and that belief is recreated through the folk performance of the "Van ca nu than dat Quang Ninh". The impressive end of the performance was the image of the "Dragon Pearl" made from Cam Pha coal - a clever way to honor the typical product of the famous coal land of the whole country.
Under the talented hands of director Le Thanh Phong, "Finding the Jade Mark" combines many types of performing arts such as dance, circus, folk singing, traditional musical instrument performances... In particular, the circus performance art is directed by Circus Director - Meritorious Artist Ngo Le Thang and a team of talented, professional artists.
The program has support and advice from experts such as Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen The Ky - Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts; director, People's Artist Le Chuc; People's Artist Hoang Quynh Mai; People's Artist Tong Toan Thang...
Visitors enjoying the performance “Finding the Pearl” will enjoy a light party. This is also a special mark of the newly exploited tourism product of Ngoc Rong Cave. In the romantic setting of the cave and the coolness brought by the geological factors of the cave, visitors will enjoy local cuisine such as Ha Long squid rolls; Tien Yen chicken; Nodding Cake… In the future, Vietnamese specialties will be added to this international menu.
Connecting the heritage road
In the world, many countries have allowed the exploitation of mountain caves to build restaurants and accommodations, many of which have become famous such as Grotto Tavern (Italy); The Cenota Musium; La Gruta (Mexico); Cuvea De Los Verder (Spain); Jeff's Cellar (Malaysia)... In Vietnam, some caves in Cat Ba archipelago have also been exploited as restaurants. The tourism product at Ngoc Rong cave focuses on live performances combined with snacks, which is a difference with many solutions to respect nature and protect the cave space.
Quang Ninh has great resources of rocky mountains and caves, of which Ha Long Bay has 1,969 rocky islands, Bai Tu Long Bay has over 630 rocky islands and many limestone mountain ranges on the mainland, the mountains have many caves with over 60 large caves. Quang Ninh province has conducted many surveys to encourage the exploitation of tourist routes in caves and develop new tourism products from caves.
Ngoc Rong Cave, located outside the core heritage area, has an ideal space for organizing activities to welcome tourists. The cave has an average height of nearly 10m, with the cave dome area reaching nearly 30m high. The cave has 2 doors at the beginning and end of the cave leading to the outside with the entrance being more than 7m wide. On the cave dome, there are some open spaces to ensure natural ventilation for the cave and help the temperature in the cave to be stable at 23-25oC in both winter and summer. This natural feature ensures safety for activities with large crowds in the cave.
To ensure natural elements, the design of additional stages, sound, lighting, and walkways is carefully calculated to suit the space, on the principle of not affecting the cave; the number of people in the cave is also limited below the permitted level; auxiliary works are moved to the outside area.
Exploiting and developing tourism in Ngoc Rong Cave is even more meaningful when creating a highlight connecting tourism in the area. According to Mr. Pham Le Hung - Chairman of Cam Pha City People's Committee: "The scenic area of Vung Duc adjacent to Bai Tu Long Bay is an opportunity to connect with the exploitation of 4 tourist itineraries of Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long that have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee. Along with that, Cam Pha has 5 tourist spots connecting to Vung Duc scenic spot by road, Ha Long - Cam Pha coastal road to attract visitors to the locality in all 4 seasons. In particular, visiting caves and enjoying art products in Cam Pha can serve visitors even on days with unusual weather due to rain and storms..."
The live performance program "Finding the Pearl" combined with a light party is being operated by Hang Ngoc Rong Company Limited. This is a unit that is highly appreciated by Quang Ninh province for its investment capacity and service deployment in the field of high-quality tourism. As a member company of APC Corporation - a group that invests, operates and exploits the Ambassador cruise chain in Ha Long, Cat Ba, along with a chain of high-class restaurants and many tourism and culinary service business projects nationwide, Hang Ngoc Rong Company Limited will have many advantages in attracting international tourists - opening a new "door" to bring Vietnamese culture to friends around the world.
